Music Festival

A music festival is a community event oriented towards live performances of singing and instrument playing that is often presented with a theme such as musical genre (e.g., blues, folk, jazz, classical music), nationality, or locality of musicians, or holiday. Some festivals are focused on women’s music.

They are commonly held outdoors, with tents or roofed temporary stages for the performers. Often music festivals host other attractions such as food and merchandise vending, dance, crafts, performance art, and social or cultural activities. At music festivals associated with charitable causes, there may be information about social or political issues. Many festivals are annual, or repeat at some other interval. Some, including many rock festivals, are held only once.

Some festivals are organized as for-profit live concerts and others are benefits for a specific charitable cause. Another type of music festival is the educative type, organized annually in local communities, regionally, or nationally, for the benefit of amateur musicians, Djs, Artists of all ages and grades of achievement.


Music Festival may include :


    1) Tomorrowland

    Belgiums most magnificent festival has harboured an undisputed reputation of being one of the most looked forward to festivals of the year. The fact that its tickets sell out within minutes of release reiterates that Tomorrowland is one of the most anticipated music event ever. This EDM festival takes place in late July and brings home some of the most notable international DJs and music producers, including Armin van Buuren, David Guetta and Martin Garrix, to name a few.


    2) Electric Daisy Carnival

    Arguably the largest electronic music festival in North America, Electric Daisy Carnival sees more than 300,000 attendees on an average. Add to that, some of the biggest names in the electronic music circuit - Afrojack, Kaskade, Tiesto, David Guetta and Steve Aoki, and you get a 2-day extravaganza.


    3) Sensation

    Dividing its music into Black (niche and Hardstyle) and White (House), this event originated in Miami. The festival has expanded from Amsterdam Arena to include Poland, Spain, Chile, USA, Austria, Germany and, since this year, India. It not only brings great music to people, but also looks to create a unique atmosphere and ambiance which is a spectacle in itself.


    4) Ultra Music Festival

    Ultra Music is the biggest festival of the US because it also streams live coverage of the festival via YouTube thereby aiding to all those people who perhaps missed being there in person. Starting in Miami and hosting the likes of David Guetta, Deadmau5 and Tiesto, Ultra is hands down the Mecca of EDM festivals.

    5) Global Gathering

    The event is hosted by a different country every year and is a 2-day gathering known for having the best line-ups, thus far. The fact that Global Gathering has attracted millions of people unfailingly, says a lot about the festival. Popular DJ Armin van Buuren also acknowledges GG to be one of the essential festivals of the world.


    6) Electric Zoo

    The name of the carnival pretty much lives up to its reputation, which takes place at Randalls Island Park in New York. Each year, EDM legends such as Pretty Lights, David Guetta and Laidback Luke along with upcoming new talents bring New Yorkers out in open, wild and how!


    7) Stereosonic

    If you plan to go down under, then Stereosonic is the place to be. Australia is known for hosting many a festival - outlandish and larger-than-life; and Stereosonic is one of them! Covering cities like Sydney, Melbourne, Perth and Brisbane, it is a favourite festival ground for many DJs.


    8) Ozora Festival

    There are many trance festivals in the world and yet, there is only one Ozora festival. A small Hungarian village, Ozora is home to one of the biggest trance and psychedelic music festival in the world; from constant psy, progressive to dark trance music, the festival conducts week-long artistic workshops, activities and exhibitions, thereby making it one of the biggest platforms of cultural dissemination.


    9) Outlook Festival

    Known for playing music in a very grand and loud music set-up, Outlook is Europes answer to other EDM festivals in the genre of bass music. Whats more - the festival plays host to a number of boat parties, which feature artists from the festival, thereby making the experience more personalised.



    10) Sunburn Festival

    Sunburn is India's answer to international Dance music festivals. The brainchild of our very own Nikhil Chinappa, the festival occurs around the month of December; making for a perfect Holida party hotspot for Indians and foreigners, alike. In its 10th instalment, this time around, Sunburn has shifted base, from Goa, to Pune. The festival continues to draw international headlining musicians like Armin Van Buuren, Afrojack, Diplo, Like Mike and Martin Garrix to our homegrounds.
